Come learn the fundamentals of River SUP with SUPPAUL, SUP adventurer and instructor Paul Clark.
Outfitting for independent river SUP paddling (river-ready boards, paddles, safety equipment)
Fundamentals of paddling, including stance and strokes; falling safely and recovering quickly; navigating in moving water, peeling in/out of eddies, and river crossing/ferry exercises.
Progressive and experiential approach to the curriculum, from kneeling and standing during each exercise in Class 1 &2 swift water.
All participants will be wearing the "river SUP uniform" S.H.I.P.P.S (Shoes, helmet, insulation, PFD, padding, and signal device).
*Strongly recommend paddlers bring their own gear for proper fit. Insulation in the form of a thick wetsuit or drysuit is suggested. For the short section of river we will will paddle, padding such as GForm knee/shin guards will be optional.
